Overview
The CL-MD23 is designed for continuous monitoring of drilling-fluid density. Two vertically separated pressure diaphragms sense the hydrostatic pressure difference in the fluid. Because the diaphragm spacing is fixed, the measured differential pressure is proportional to fluid density.
An integrated mechanical arrangement and lightweight structure support installation and routine handling at the wellsite.
Specifications
Measurement range: 0-3 g/cm³, continuously adjustable.
Output signal: 4-20 mA, linear with the measured density.
Accuracy class: 0.5.
Sensitivity: 0.01 g/cm³.
Operating temperature: -50 to 60 °C.
Rated supply: 24 V DC.
Intrinsic safety parameters: Ui = 30 V DC, Ii = 200 mA, Pi = 0.9 W, Ci = 27.6 nF and Li = 0 mH.
Hazardous-area certification
Explosion-protection marking: Ex ia IIC T4 Ga. Certificate number: CE23.3817X. The supplied certificate states an expiry date of October 18, 2028.
The sensor must be used with a compatible Ex ia Ga IIC safety barrier. Installation and grounding must follow the certificate conditions, the approved system design and the applicable site regulations.
Installation and maintenance
Install the sensor vertically with both pressure diaphragms immersed during expected drilling-fluid level changes. Keep the transmitter above the fluid level.
Do not touch the pressure diaphragms with sharp tools. Remove deposited drilling fluid regularly; weekly cleaning is recommended where operating conditions require it.
Quotation check: legacy specifications may be incomplete or outdated. Confirm operating range, output signal, materials, hazardous-area requirement, documentation, and certification for the current order.
